To ensure consistency across all plaques installed on the seating area, Melbourne Grammar School recommends adhering to the style guide outlined below when finalising your details. All naming plaques, and wording, are subject to endorsement by the School, and prior to installation, you may be contacted to confirm any minor changes that may need to be made.
Due to character limitations and unique family circumstances, our team will happily work with any donors who are unable to strictly abide by the style guide, to find suitable alternatives that ensure your donation and lasting connection to the building are recognised in a way that is meaningful to you.
Old Melburnians who wish to include their OM year, please do so using brackets immediately following your name and any postnominals. The OM year is to include all 4-digits.
For example: Jack Morrow (OM 1925)
If you would like to simply engrave your family name on your chosen plaque, we encourage the use of the word “The” beforehand.
For example: The Morrow Family
Ampersands are not accepted, and the word “and” must be written out in full. In circumstances where family names and details may exceed character limits, please contact the development office and we can work with donors on an individual basis. When listing individual names, please make use of a comma to separate them.
For example: Jack, Andrew, and John Morrow
All initials should make use of a period.
For example: J. Morrow
For example: J., A., and J. Morrow
